The event in a few words

Still haven't found the perfect excuse to jet off to Machu Picchu? We have the perfect solution for you! Join the Inca Wildmarathon in Peru! Just as the name suggests, it's a one-way ticket to Peru 🇵🇪, to the unique world of the Incas! 🛕 This event is part of the 6 Wild Marathons series! 🏆

To meet the expectations of its runners 👟, the Wild Marathon offers 3 trail distances: a marathon, a half-marathon, and a 10 km! The 42 km distance includes 1250 m of elevation gain and 2,540 m of descent, meaning the route is mostly downhill with 20% on roads and 80% on dirt paths! 🗺️

But that's not all, you're not just signing up for a race, you're in for an epic 6-day adventure! Here's the scoop: the only thing you need to worry about is boarding the plane and waiting for your pickup at Cuzco airport ✈️. Once there, you'll settle into a beautiful hotel we've selected for you, before taking a short city tour! ⭐ Even more, you'll visit the temple of Sacsaywaman, an Inca fortress dedicated to the Sun and other deities 💫. But after relaxation comes effort (yes, we might be a bit jetlagged)! To tackle the marathon, you’ll need to acclimate a bit to the altitude 🥴. Even though the race is more downhill, you'll still climb up to 4,500 meters! 😱 Therefore, a training session is scheduled at 3,500 meters ⛰️. Slowly but surely, you'll build up your endurance 🐣. Don't worry, you'll get to rest with a good dinner afterward! On the second day, more tourism awaits! Head to the Sacred Valley to visit a traditional textile workshop and salt mines! 🧤 On the third day, you’ll explore another incredible spot! Ever heard of Ollantaytambo? If not, great! You'll discover the Ñusta Hispana ruins 🌄. This will be the launch point for your first trek into the Racachacca valley. After a good night's sleep, you'll dive into a cultural exploration in the Inca Valley, the starting point for the races 🏁. A campsite is set up to ensure you are well-rested before race day! The race itself will finish in the village of Santa Teresa ✨. After completing your challenge, enjoy the thermal waters 🧖‍♀️ before the award ceremony! 🥇 On your last day, the organizers will take you to the heart of Machu Picchu 🗿, completing your incredible experience! And don't worry about the departure, you'll be taken back to the airport just as you were picked up.

Feeling nostalgic and want to repeat the experience? 😉 No problem, but things might change a bit! The amazing race you're about to join is part of a series called the Wild Marathons 🤠. There are 6 races around the world in total. If you enjoy this experience, you can always sign up for the other 5. On the menu: you can head to Morocco for the Dune Desert Marathon in the desert! 🇲🇦 Or switch things up and head to Finland 🇫🇮, where you might even visit the famous house of Santa Claus at the Arctic Marathon! Or you can head to the Yeti Marathon in Nepal 🇳🇵, within the iconic Annapurna Conservation Area, a place coveted by mountaineers every year. Prefer warmer climates? Then head to Tanzania for the Kilimasai Marathon 🇹🇿, with postcard-worthy views and the majestic Kilimanjaro as the backdrop! The final one is the Maya Marathon in Mexico ! 🇲🇽 As the name suggests, you’ll get to explore Maya ruins on the island paradise of Cozumel! ⚓

By the time you finalize this amazing schedule, we might take a little vacation ourselves! 🏖️ We can't wait to see your smile after the Inca WildMarathon in Peru!
