GRAND TRAIL DE SERRE-PONÇON

Higher Up, It's the Sun

You're not kidding around anymore, not at all 😑. After shining ✨ on the introductory trail and the short trail, you've decided to take it up a notch with the long trail!

Let's be honest: while some running distances are achievable for everyone, the long trail requires specific physical preparation 🏋️. Running between 42 and 80 kilometers is not within everyone's reach 😳, regardless of the elevation gain or terrain of the chosen race. Your heart ❤️, your thighs (which need to be as strong as concrete), and of course, your mind 💆 will be put to the test, whether you choose snowy lands ❄️, seaside trails trails 🌊, or rugged paths along the cliffs cliffs. The breathtaking natural beauty 😍 of the courses will help you overcome tough moments.

Where to start? Opting for a popular race? Between London and Brighton ↔️, the London to Brighton Challenge attracts crowds of runners 👯. And why not take the opportunity to explore more of the Southeast region? A bit further west, on the splendid natural plateaus 🏞️ around the Cotswolds, the Cotswold Way Challenge 🏰 offers long-distance trail runs. To the north, you'll find the Lakeland Trails Ultra ⛰️ in the Lake District, the Ultra-Trail Snowdonia by UTMB® ⚡ in Wales, or the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge 🌊 on the south coast. These races, known for their difficulty and breathtaking beauty 😍, are ideal steps to transition to long trail runs before embarking on an ultra trail while watching the sunset 🌞.

It’s up to you to decide which goal you want to target first 🥇. Who knows, you might run into legends of the discipline 🤯 like the German Hannes Namberger, winner of the Ultra Trail Cape Town in 2022, Benjamin Roubiol, world champion of long trail in Innsbruck (Austria), or even Nicolas Martin. On the female side, there's Blandine L’Hirondel, double world champion in the discipline in 2019 and 2022, and Marion Delespierre-Maupin, world champion of the long trail in 2023. Who knows, maybe your name will reach their level!

So, are you ready to join the big names in the trail world? 🏃‍♂️

Should it rain or snow
