The event in a few words

Tervetuloa to the Arctic Wildmarathon in Finland! 🦌 Get ready for a 4-day adventure in the heart of Lapland! 📍 After landing in the city of Rovaniemi, you'll quickly strap on your Moon Boots ❄️. Expect temperatures between -12 and -7°C 🌡️, so bring your warmest fleece jackets unless you plan on becoming a snowman! ☃️ This winter trail is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself over various distances: 10 km, 21 km, or the crowning event, the marathon 👑. Whether you're a trail running novice or expert, Santa Claus is waiting for all enthusiastic runners at the starting line! 🚩

But why are we mentioning Santa Claus here? 🤔 Even though the race takes place in April, you’ll be running in the realm of the famous Santa Claus! 🎄 Yes, he and his elves don't take holidays 🧚‍♂️. The start of this unique race will be in the Santa Claus Village, located right on the Arctic Circle 🥶. This kind of start is something you won't see anywhere else! 🤩 Santa Claus has been generous for this trail race, with minimal elevation changes and partially cleared paths thanks to his reindeer 😁. The course is a true gift 🎁: you'll run through semi-urban landscapes, combining forests of conifer trees and breathtaking views of the Taiga. You'll dive into the most authentic Finnish Lapland experience! 🥰

No rush to head home after the race! 😎 Take your time to explore the wonders of the region: go on a hunt for the Northern Lights 🌌, enjoy a snowmobile safari 🛷, or take a dog sled ride 🐕‍🦺 to discover the Arctic landscapes from a new perspective 🤓. Plenty of sporty activities await, but if you're out of energy after your marathon 🪫 and looking to relax, there are heated pools and many spas available! 💆‍♂️

The Arctic Wildmarathon in Finland is more than just a race, it's a unique experience where performance meets wonder ✨ and the snow brings the magic of Christmas to every step! 🏃‍♂️

Other Wildmarathons are held around the world 🌎: the Yeti Marathon in Nepal, the Dune Marathon in Morocco 🏜️, the Maya Marathon in Mexico, the Kilimasai Marathon in Tanzania, and the Inca Marathon in Peru! 🤯 You're sure to find an adventure that meets your expectations, so don't hesitate any longer! 😉

4 reasons to join this race

The Magic of Christmas, Early Edition 🎅
Just because the race is held in April doesn't mean Santa's Village will be closed! For four days, you'll be immersed in the enchanting world of Christmas, meeting Santa Claus, his reindeer, and his hardworking elves already preparing for the next Christmas! 😜
Witness the Northern Lights 🕯️
When you think Arctic Circle, you think Northern Lights! You won't miss out, as the organizers have planned expeditions to let you enjoy the mesmerizing green and purple lights that illuminate the Lapland sky 🤩.
Tread on Snowy Trails ❄️
This marathon offers a unique challenge on trails far different from the usual asphalt! This event is a blend between a marathon and a trail run, a true 'maratrail.' No worries about steep inclines, though; that's Santa's gift to you 🎁.
Enjoy a Warm Atmosphere 🔥
The Wildmarathon Arctic Finland is more than just a race—it's an entire experience! Over these four days, you'll meet fellow running enthusiasts who, like you, want to create unforgettable memories.
