If you're looking for speed, nature, and endurance, road biking is for you! Once you get a taste, you'll want to spend hours on the saddle every day. A Road Cycling Events is packed with challenges: distance, elevation, it's all in there! And after the effort comes the reward: good food, drinks, prize ceremonies, and a friendly atmosphere. Ready to dive in? Discover the basics of road biking with us!

Unlike mountain biking or gravel biking 🚲, road biking stands out with its lightweight frame, curved handlebars, and ultra-thin tires 😏. As with all outdoor activities ⛅, it's essential to dress appropriately for the weather and temperature 🌡️. In fall and winter, you'll need more substantial protection against the cold and elements compared to spring and summer! 🌞

This discipline has evolved significantly in recent years, with two main styles: sportives and bike touring! Sportives event is a cycling event focused on endurance and performance 🏆. When we think of sportives, events such as the Étape du Tour de France 🇫🇷, the Marmotte GranFondo, or Paris-Roubaix 🗼 often come to mind. Maybe that's what inspired you to start road biking! 🤩 As for bike touring, it's more like a bike trip ✈️, with a tourist approach rather than a performance one 🙌. It's also a fantastic way to explore new places. Some even use it for trekking by bike, known as bikepacking! ⛺

Road biking is a highly accessible sport activity, regardless of your age or fitness level 🤓. There's something for everyone, from leisure rides to ultra-cycling! With the arrival of spring and longer days 🌸, all the conditions are set for you to discover and ride your bike 1 to 2 times a week 🗓️. If you ride regularly, you'll quickly see your progress 💪. Don't overdo it at the beginning, start with simple rides of about 30 kilometers and don't aim for 100 kilometers right away ✅. Once you're comfortable on your road bike, you can start climbing small cols with slopes less than 5% ⛰️. Generally, about ten flat rides are enough to be ready for this step!

No matter the distance you prefer ❤️, it's crucial to prepare well for your ride. Make sure to stretch your muscles properly, stay hydrated, and choose your gear carefully (appropriate shoes, water bottles… 💧). There's no reason not to fall in love with this sport. Once you've tried it, you'll see: you won't be able to get enough 🌟. So, shall we meet tonight for an afterwork ride?
