Ready to feel like one of the riders from the Giro d'Italia and the Giro di Lombardia? ๐ดโโ๏ธ Then get on the starting line for the 27th edition of the International BGY Granfondo in Bergamo, Italy! ๐ค This cycling event invites you in May to immerse yourself in the natural and mountainous landscapes of the Lombardy region. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or an enthusiast seeking new challenges ๐, this race is your chance to shine on the road! โจ You'll start alongside all other riders, but don't worry ๐, you can go at your own pace and, most importantly, your chosen distance! Let us explain ๐ค.
When you register, you don't select the distance to cover โ๏ธ. You'll begin with at least 89.4 km and 1,400 m of climbing, the smallest event of the competition! ๐ถ But if you're a wheel wizard ๐, you can choose not to take the turn that leads you to the finish but rather continue with more climbs! The two other routes are much more demanding: 128.8 km and 2,100 m of climbing or 162.1 km and 3,050 m of climbing ๐คฏ. Whether it's a long or short cyclosportive, there's something for everyone! ๐ And the route will surely please all cycling amateurs who love mountain roads, hairpin turns, and especially elevation changes ๐. Rest assured, you won't feel the strain as the atmosphere will be friendly along the course ๐ฅฐ. You'll surely find a cycling companion to share this grand experience with ๐คฉ.
After crossing the finish line ๐, Bergamo welcomes you with its historical charm ๐. Stroll through its medieval streets and discover the Cittร Alta and its majestic walls ๐ฐ. Of course, there are some stairs to climb, which might challenge your already tired legs from the ride ๐ . Just an hour's drive away ๐, you can admire the reflections of Lake Como or the splendor of Lake Garda ๐๏ธ. Whether you're with family or a partner ๐งโ๐คโ๐ง, the town is perfect for creating cherished memories, such as visiting the Accademia Carrara Museum, famous for its art collections ๐ผ๏ธ, or indulging in the local cuisine: pasta ๐, pizza ๐, parmesan... You can pick up your race bib at the Gewiss Stadium - Piazzale Goisis, Bergamo - on May 3, 2025, from 9 AM to 8 PM.
The race will start on May 4, 2025, at 7 AM from Via Marzabotto, next to the "Lazzaretto" - Gewiss Stadium.
The start line is located just 3 km from the airport. A stand inside the airport will be available for runners to prepare their bikes.
Participants must be at least 18 years old to run.
The cost of the race bib is โฌ45 for all routes (you can choose your distance during the race) and it includes:

For โฌ95, you receive all the aforementioned benefits plus the official BGY AIRPORT GRANFONDO jersey made by Santini Cycling, with the exclusive limited edition "GRANFONDO" design.
To participate, you must hold a UCI-FCI license. Those without a license can participate by purchasing a UCI-FCI day license for โฌ10. The license number will be required during registration. This license covers athlete status including multi-risk insurance and civil liability for annual members, limited to the day it's used. To get the day license, a valid medical certificate confirming your fitness for cycling activities is required (certificates for other sports like triathlon, duathlon, athletics, etc., are not accepted).
For the 89.4 km distance: maximum of 5 hours
For the 128.8 km distance: maximum of 6 hours
For the 162.1 km distance: maximum of 7.5 hours
Additionally, there are 3 control points:
The first at the Nembro to Selvino junction (km 44). Runners arriving after 9:30 AM will be redirected towards Bergamo.
The second at the Ambria intersection (km 71.4). Runners arriving after 10:45 AM will be redirected to the 89.4 km route.
The third at the Val Brembilla intersection (km 111.2). Runners arriving after 11:45 AM will be redirected to the 128.8 km route.
There will be 5 refreshment stations along the course offering fruits, sweets, savory snacks, water, electrolytes, and tea.
