Lace up your shoes and take on the Treg Algeria Trail! 🙌 Located in the mystical town of Timimoun in Algeria, this race offers a challenging yet exhilarating course through one of the most beautiful oases of the Sahara, right on the edge of the Grand Erg Occidental! 🌞
Imagine yourself running across the sands, pushing beyond your limits, feeling the desert wind on your face, and the adrenaline coursing through you 🔝. It's a true test of endurance and spirit. And the best part? You're not just running, you're embarking on a real adventure! 🤠
This second edition will take place between the end of November and the beginning of December ☃️. Over the course of 3 days, you'll have the opportunity to tackle three different routes, each more impressive than the last: 50 km, 106 km, and for the most daring, 182 km. If tackling the great distance alone seems daunting, you can opt to participate in a relay with 4 or 6 runners 🏃♂️.
And that's not all! After sweating through the adventure, don't miss the chance to discover the jewels of the region. Timimoun is renowned for its red-earth architecture and stunning oases 🏝️. You can also explore the ruins of the Timimoun Ksar, an impressive archaeological site. For a perfect end to the day, watching the sunset over the sea of sand from the Oued is an unforgettable experience! 🌇
So, are you ready to rise to the challenge and embark on an incredible adventure? Don't miss out on the Treg Algeria Trail, the most unique running experience you can imagine! 👟
Starting from the oasis of Timimoun, you'll head north, passing by numerous oases along the way! 🏞️ Soon, the easy tracks will give way to sandy terrain 🏜️, introducing a bit of a challenge. Then, you'll move east into the Grand Erg Occidental! From there, you'll have the chance to admire the dunes, the Ksar Drâa, and the oasis of Guentour before heading back to Timimoun 🏁.
The Algeria Trail is the little brother of the ultra! 🤓 You'll start at the same time as the 182 km runners and head north 🧭. You'll then get to explore the Grand Erg Occidental, marvel at the dunes, and visit the Ksar Drâa before reaching the oasis of Guentour. The journey back to Timimoun will take you directly east to complete the loop! 🏁
The Algeria Marathon, starting in Timimoun, will take you on a large loop around the oasis without any significant elevation change! 🤓
