Set your sights on Cape Verde! 🟢 Quite the pun, isn't it? 🤪 If adventure, sports, and travel are your passions, we have something you’ll love: the Treg Cabo Verde Trail😍. This event takes place on the African continent, specifically on the island of Santo Antao in Cape Verde 🏖️. It's the second-largest island of Cape Verde, known for its volcanic and mountainous nature 🏔️. More than just a race, it's a 10-day epic adventure awaiting participants 🔥. Everything is organized for you, from flights to bus and boat transfers, so your only duty is to run! 🏃♀️ And for that, you’ll have three race options, all designed for passionate runners with a spirit of adventure 🌄.
Let's get down to business: the races 🤠. The first and undoubtedly challenging option is the "Ultra Cabo Verde Trail", an ultra trail spanning 120 km with approximately 7,000 meters of positive elevation gain 🫣. We mentioned the mountainous landscapes, so expect plenty of elevation to conquer 🍽️.
Participation in this challenge demands solid trail experience and numerous hours of training under your belt! 🚀 The second race is the beautifully named "Long Cabo Verde Trail", featuring 80 km and 4,500 mD+, requiring top-notch fitness too! 💪 Finally, the last race, "The Cabo Verde Trail", offers a distance of 40 km and 2,500 mD+ 😎. Each race is designed to ensure you don’t lose your way, thanks to a GPS provided by the organizers 📍. It’s more modern than a compass, rest assured 🧭. You'll have to navigate your path through the vast wilderness of the island of Santo Antao! 🐒 It's the perfect mix of land, sea, nature, forest, and mountain! 🌊 If you ever need a pick-me-up, we have a secret to share: Santo Antao is where grogue is made 🥃. Grogue is a sugarcane-based spirit akin to rum (alcohol consumption can be harmful to your health) 🍬. It's THE drink to try in Cape Verde! 🍋🟩
And after exertion, let's talk about relaxation! 😋 Over the ten-day journey awaiting participants, there are designated days for rest and exploration, especially in Mindelo, a town located on the island of Sao Vicente! 🌴 Mindelo is recognized as the cultural capital capital of Cape Verde 🤓. Also, visiting the municipal market in Mindelo can be quite enjoyable! 🥗 Markets offer the best way to discover local traditions, gastronomy, and customs... ❤️ Finally, to wrap up the delightful itinerary, treat yourself to a concert featuring traditional Cape Verdean music like morna or coladeira! 🎶
Lace up your shoes and socks, Cape Verde awaits you at the starting line! 👟
