The event in a few words
Looking to break away from the usual running paths? Want to challenge yourself in a new way while supporting a charitable cause? 🤩 Have you heard about the Yutz Téléthon Run, the 3637? 🤔
Let's walk you through this event concept! But first, do you have a busy schedule in November? If so, no worries. The Yutz Téléthon is a virtual race, so there are no fixed dates or bibs! You have the entire month to complete one of the offered distances (from November 1st to November 30th)! 📆 Plus, you don't need to travel; the goal is simply to choose the number of kilometers you want to run: 2.5km, 5km, 10km, and 15km! 🎽 All proceeds will go to the AFM Téléthon 🤝.
Quick reminder: This organization was created in 1987 by Bernard Barataud and Pierre Birambeau, two fathers whose sons were diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Since then, the goal has been to raise as much money as possible to fund medical research, support patients, and develop innovative therapies 🔬, highlighting the importance of solidarity and helping those suffering from rare diseases 💊.
In the first edition of the Yutz Téléthon, €10,000 were raised to help patients, covering everything from research to treatment📚. This year, we're counting on running enthusiasts to put their passion towards the cause! 💪 You don't need to change your routine if you have a running ritual 🏃♀️. Simply sign up, and complete your run wherever you choose! Whether it's in a park ⛲, a forest 🌲, the city 🏙️ or the mountains 🏞️. Once you've completed your run, why not share it on social media with the #TéléthondeYutz hashtag? 🤳 This will help the Téléthon gain national, and potentially international, recognition! 🌎 Plus, you can post pictures of yourself and your friends (if you're running as a group) during the race! 📸
For different distances, the 2.5km option was also designed to make the race accessible for people with disabilities. Whether you're able-bodied or not, in a wheelchair or not, we encourage you to take on the challenge! ⚡ Of course, if you have a disability, you're more than welcome to participate in any of the distances! 👏
We look forward to many participants to advance research, enable treatments, and support people with rare diseases! ❤️
