Marathon de Vannes
Come to the coastlines of Morbihan, caressed by the breezes of the Atlantic Ocean, in the heart of Brittany 🌊. How about making a little stop to discover the Vannes Marathon, a legendary event that will leave you exhausted. Yes, we're giving it to you straight 🌈; in Vannes in October, you'll push yourself to the limit on a course that spans land and sea. As for the weather, the Breton climate isn't exactly a day at the beach 😂. But if you're lucky, the sun might peek out and the temperatures could be perfect for running 🏃.
This road race isn't for the faint-hearted 🍶. So, choose a marathon category or a 10 km. Multiple marathon formats are available. Don’t want to suffer alone? Share the experience with a friend in the "Duo de l’Hermine", with 23 km + 19 km 🖇️. A little bonus: you’ll reunite with your partner for the final kilometer, running together to the finish line 🔥. Calling all companies, it’s a great opportunity to strengthen bonds and team spirit with the challenge of the "Vannes Marathon" in a 4-person relay, to distribute the efforts fairly 🤝. If the 42 km distance seems a bit ambitious, you can opt for the nighttime 10 km run. As the moon 🌙 lights up the starry sky 🌌, you’ll have great visibility thanks to your trusty headlamp 💡. Also, don’t miss the "20 km de Vannes", which was a smash hit 📦 in its first year. The routes have all been updated so that previous participants can experience something new. We have to hand it to the organizers; they've thought of everything to ensure you have an unforgettable time! 🚀
It's an incredible rendezvous for our future marathoners. 42 km is no walk in the park 😳. But fear not: the Vannes Marathon also offers an authentic cultural immersion as you traverse the historic center and its cobblestone streets! Passing through the port of Vannes and along the Gulf of Morbihan, one of the most beautiful bays in the world according to the Bretons, you'll enjoy picturesque scenery. The real highlight of this marathon route is undoubtedly its contrast between nature and the authentic urban setting of Vannes 🏙️. Indeed, you'll have the chance to run through green spaces, in the forest, and on coastal paths against tides.
The Breton spectators will be as present as the explosive atmosphere! 💥 Plus, you can come in costume if you wish, adding a touch of madness to your adventure! 🧑🚀 The Vannes Marathon is an opportunity to discover a magnificent city while enjoying the warm hospitality and generosity of the Vannetais 👍. Along the route, you'll be spurred on by musical groups and activities to help you reach the finish line. And for the post-race meal, there's no choice: sausage galette and crepes are a must! 🌯
Take advantage of your post-race time to explore the Côte des Mégalithes. There are plenty of treasures to discover: the Alignments of Carnac, the Dolmen de Kervilor Mane Bras, the Île-aux-Moines, or the Île d'Arz, or even Trinité-sur-Mer. You can visit them all while running, which will serve as a nice cool down... 👌 Okay, okay, we’ll let you take a boat to the islands 😜.
