UltraBaie
Here's a little riddle for you: What takes place in early July, happens by the sea, and offers a stunning sunrise? ๐ Your vacation? Nope, it's the Ultrabaie! ๐
In Saint-Valery-sur-Somme in the Hauts-de-France region, you'll be accompanied by the fresh breeze and the sand under your feet ๐ฌ๏ธ as you embark on an unforgettable trail adventure! ๐คฉ Now in its 3rd edition, the Ultrabaie is back to leave a lasting impression with a spectacular course โจ. The Sentier du Littoral trail, right by the sea and its beaches ๐๏ธ, will be your playground, no matter the distance you choose! ๐ค From the Baie de Somme to the cliffs, you'll discover a wild nature as you pass through places like Le Hourdel, Cayeux-sur-Mer, Ault, Le Crotoy, or even Mers-les-Bains. These landscapes will resonate with you like a poem, as the organizer himself puts it: "You see the sea, then you don't, then you see it again... You spot one seal, then two, then three... And always the birds." ๐ฆ It almost sounds like something out of Verlaine! ๐ผ
The distances are sure to charm you too! ๐ฅฐ Whether you're an experienced runner or just looking to push yourself, you'll find short trails of 14 or 20 km and long trails of 34 or 70 km! For those who prefer teamwork, there's even a relay option for the 70 km ๐ค. The only difficulty you'll encounter on this course might be resisting the urge to marvel at the beauty of the Bay, especially at sunrise! ๐ Yes, you wouldn't want to lose time on such a smooth track โฑ๏ธ, especially as you'll get to admire the scenery twice ๐ธ. All the events are out-and-back courses, giving you double the time to enjoy the views ๐. And at the finish line, you'll be greeted by concerts and a big party ๐. What more could you want? ๐ Actually, the Ultrabaie gives you a taste of vacation! ๐งณ
Why not extend your stay? ๐๏ธ After crossing the finish line, continue your adventure by exploring the beautiful Hauts-de-France region. Just an hour's drive away ๐, wander through the charming streets of Touquet-Paris-Plage and enjoy its sandy beaches ๐, or explore the stunning Cap Blanc-Nez cliffs for breathtaking views! ๐คฏ For history buffs, step back in time by visiting the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral in Amiens ๐ฐ, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Finally, take your family to the Marquenterre Park for an unforgettable day observing migratory birds ๐ช.
You wouldn't want to miss this Ultrabaie experience! ๐
