Great news for our loyal triathletes who are growing in numbers at Finishers! ❤️🔥 And a little highlight, we're venturing beyond French territories to the lovely Alicante 🕺, along the sunny Costa Blanca in Spain! 🇪🇸 We truly go all out for our triple-discipline enthusiasts! 🏃♂️ In the Valencia region, you can participate in the Mediterranea Tri Alicante! 🌊 Let me tell you more about this wonderful triathlon by introducing the 3 distances available: the classic "Olympic Triathlon" 🏆, featuring 1.5 km swimming 🏊♂️, 40 km cycling and 10 km running ! While this might be daunting if you're not well-prepared 💪, there are two other options for you. The "Sprint Triathlon" offers a less demanding challenge: 0.5 km swimming, 20 km cycling 🚵♀️, and 5 km running! If that's still too challenging, consider the "SuperSprint Triathlon" with 350 m swimming, 10 km cycling, and 2.5 km running! 👣 What do you think? Isn't it an inclusive event? 😌 Also, we almost forgot to mention, all distances can be done as a duo! 👭 It's the perfect opportunity to bring your partner-in-crime and smash it (figuratively, of course)! 🫵 For those who enjoy family events, there's the "Duathlon" 👯♂️, a non-competitive event designed for fun and discovering the sport! 🏊♀️
Do you know Alicante? 🤔 If so, you're probably already signed up for the event. If not, you're in the right place to learn more. Let's start: this beautiful Spanish city is coastal 🌅, meaning you'll swim in the Mediterranean Sea during the event! 🗾 Both the cycling and running circuits, regardless of the format, take place along the waterfront 💦, ensuring breathtaking views and ideal weather during the competition! 🌡️ Speaking of Alicante, the Mount Benacantil 🏞️ overlooks the city and houses the stunning Santa Bárbara Castle 🏰, 166 meters high by the sea! It's one of the largest on the coast, with sections from three different eras: the famous "La Torreta" from the 14th century, the main buildings from the 16th century, and the lower enclosure featuring the Revellín del Bon Repos from the 18th century 📚. Now, with the little history lesson out of the way 📜, let's talk about the marvelous spots you can explore if you extend your Spanish stay! 💃 If you enjoy wandering through city streets, you'll love "El Barrio," Alicante's old town! 🤩 Alternatively, if you're keen on venturing to new horizons ⛵, the island of Tabarca will amaze you with its vibrant scenes. To get there, you'll need a boat, which you can easily find on the beaches 🏝️ or at the Port of Alicante! 🛳️ While you're waiting to become a captain, we want to see you excel as a mermaid! 🧜♀️
So, are you ready to set sail for Spain? 😎
