Looking for a good excuse to run in your favorite city? The "Run in Lyon by Harmonie Mutuelle" is the ultimate running festival where you can uncover the secrets of a city rich in history and culture alongside thousands of other runners. That's right, because "Run In" is, above all, a running festival that takes place in some of the most beautiful cities in France 🇫🇷! This festival offers various routes so you can run according to your abilities and desires... all while discovering the beauty of Lyon! ⭐ This time, the celebration is happening in Lyon (as you might have guessed 😅)! The schedule is packed, full of emotion and beauty. Ready to go? One, two, three... Ready? Roar Run! 🏃‍♀️

The beautiful Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region welcomes you in October, right in the middle of autumn, to help you prepare for the season of raclette, brioche sausage, and quenelle 😋. You'll make some room in your stomach by doing a bit of sport! To let off steam, you can choose between 4 road race routes: a marathon, a half-marathon, a 10 km, and a 5 km. Note that young runners from Lyon can also try their hand at running during this grand event! Enough to roar with pleasure, right? 😏

But let's get into the details... The marathon is undoubtedly the highlight of the competition. Why? Because it offers the incredible advantage of taking you all around the city, and believe us, there's a lot to see! You'll pass through the city's most iconic spots, crossing several districts, an island 🗾, and two rivers 🌊. If you're not up for a full marathon, you can opt for the half-marathon which will also let you see some wonderful sights. For example, you can roam the serene paths of the famous Parc de la Tête d'Or 🌳 and tread the ancient cobblestones of Old Lyon. Finally, young runners and para-athletes can take on the 10 km, the inclusive distance of the "Run In Lyon".

You’ll also be pleased to know that, for the second consecutive year, the 10 km race is hosting the French Para-Athletics Championships! This will definitely motivate many! And the good news is that various profiles are accepted: from athletes in joëlettes ♿ to visually impaired runners. Continuing this lovely spirit of sharing, openness, and solidarity, know that the 5 km is a charity run. Indeed, 2€ from each race bib sold will be donated to Kabubu. This association aims to promote social and professional inclusion for exiled individuals through sport. With such a program, the starting line will be bustling! To give you an idea: last year, there were 25,000 participants! Quite a crowd! 😼

It's no wonder there's such a rush... The City of Lights has been a cradle of culture, art, gastronomy, history... and cinema for centuries! 🎬 As you know, the Lumière brothers hail from this city. You'll have the opportunity to retrace the steps of these two exceptional figures who pioneered a new art form 🎭.

But that’s not all! You'll unlock the secrets of this beautiful city with its multiple disco balls facets 🪩. You'll be so dazzled that you'll think you're at the "Festival of Lights" 🤩! Just like in Paris, the city boasts quaysides along the Rhône and the Saône, lined with numerous flower-decked barges. Like in Marseille, a beautiful building perches atop the city: the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. As in ancient Roman cities, you'll discover a charming old town and a vast Gallo-Roman theater 🏺, hidden behind the city.

If not, you can always visit one of the city's many museums, have brunch at Croix Rousse ❌ (the hipster neighborhood/village), shop at Part Dieu, watch the two rivers clash at Confluence, and have a coffee at Place Bellecour. But most importantly... You can comfort yourself by filling your belly in a lyonnais bouchon. Everyone knows that Lyon is the capital of French gastronomy, so why not honor it? Finally, to digest and relax those sore muscles, you can take a nice walk in the famous Monts du Lyonnais.

And to prevent your cups from ending up in the Rhône or in nature, this race has committed to the planet. Its goal is "zero waste" by using recycled water bottles. The organizers have even implemented a second-hand clothing collection system ♻️! Moreover, a partnership between "Run In Lyon" and Restos du Cœur ❤️ was created to avoid food waste at the refreshment stations! Doing good for nature while thinking of others... How can it get any better?! 🤫
