The event in a few words

The Kamogawa Ecomarathon will take you off the beaten path. Located in Kyoto, Japan 🇯🇵, the event offers 3 events accessible to both beginners and seasoned runners who are there for a race against the clock ⏱️. The course is flat, easy, and fast 🏃‍♀️. You will run through the Kamogawa River Park and follow its course throughout your run. You can choose between a semi-marathon, a 10 km, and a parent-child race 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒, accessible to children under 15. Regardless of the event you choose, you will start at exactly 11 a.m. 🕚. With races limited to 300 participants total, you won't have to worry about being trampled when the race starts 😌.

With several other sports events organized, especially in the prefectures of Saitama, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Kumamoto (mainly in Tokyo 🌸), the Ecomarathon stands out as an environmentally conscious 🌳 organization engaged in various causes 🎗️. Upon registration, it is possible to replace your payment with a donation to the associated charitable organization. This year, donations will go to "Second Harvest Japan" and "International Refugee Assistance Association" who create programs to welcome refugees worldwide 🌍.

Kyoto is often perceived as the cultural and spiritual heart of Japan 🎐. This former capital is now famous for its numerous Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, traditional gardens, imperial palaces, and well-preserved wooden houses. If you're passing through, you might have the chance to attend the famous tea ceremony 🍵.

If you plan a traditional visit, the Fushimi Inari Shrine is a must-see! ⛩️ It's the main shrine of the goddess Inari, the deity of harvests, foundries, and business, and the guardian of homes. A must-see in Japan is undoubtedly the Onsen. These traditional Japanese baths are very popular among locals! 💁‍♀️

So, are you ready to take on the challenge and be surprised by everything the Kamogawa Ecomarathon has to offer? See you at the starting line! 🏁

4 reasons to join this race

Discover Japan 🇯🇵
If you've never been to Japan, running the Kamogawa Ecomarathon is the ideal opportunity to discover this country that expertly blends tradition and modernity in all circumstances. If you extend your stay, we encourage you to explore the Chiba region. Between the Onsen (traditional Japanese baths), the Narita Temple, and Tokyo Disneyland, you won't be bored! 🤩
Participate in a human-sized event 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒
The maximum capacity is 300 people. If you're used to international races with thousands of participants, you'll find that this is not the same kind of excitement. But don't worry, we guarantee you'll have just as much fun (or maybe even more) running! 🏃
Run in an eco-friendly way ♻️
The city of Kamogawa is heavily committed to protecting the environment and conserving the surrounding beaches, rivers, and mountains. During its organization, the ecomarathon relied on bibs made from recyclable materials as well as recyclable cups ♻. The organizer encourages runners to bring their own containers for hydration 🥤.
Taste Japanese specialties 🍱
The coastal city, Kamogawa, offers fresh fish all year round, including sushi, sashimi, octopus, and much more... 🍲 Forget everything you know; we promise you'll be amazed and you won't want to eat anything else once back in France! 🇫🇷
