If you're ready to take on the waves 🌊 and the pavement 🛣️, then the Granville Triathlon is calling your name! 🫵 Get set for this adventure at the end of September, right in the heart of the English Channel, in Normandy, with stunning views of Mont-Saint-Michel as a bonus! 😍
Not just one, but two competitions ✌️ are waiting for you: the Triathlon S and the Triathlon M. No matter your skill level, you'll find a race that suits you. Remember, triathlon is a test of endurance, not speed, so you'll need to manage your energy ⚡️ wisely to conquer the swimming 🏊♀️, biking 🚴♀️, and running 🏃♀️ segments. Think Granville has nothing to offer? Think again! Known as the "Monaco of the North", the city promises postcard-perfect scenery! 💌 Throughout the race, you'll switch between urban and coastal views. Start with a swim near the port ⛴️, then bike half your route along the coast with stunning sea views 🤩 and the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel in sight. The second half takes you through urban landscapes, far from the Mediterranean. Finally, complete one loop, or two if you choose the M format, around the esplanade to soak in the last of the Normandy scenery 🖼️.
And after all that exertion? Normandy welcomes you with open arms for some well-deserved rest 😌. Enjoy the charming fishing port of Granville 🎣 with its oyster bars 🦪 or take a tour of the Christian Dior Museum 🛍️, the childhood home of the famous designer 🤵♂️. For nature lovers 🍃, the adventure continues with a trip to the Chausey Islands ⛱️, a true gem of the region. End your visit by wandering through the picturesque streets of the fortified upper town, discovering its many artisans. For history buffs 👩🏫, Normandy is an ideal destination. Rich in history and battles from World War II 🪖, why not stroll along the D-Day beaches ⚓️? The most famous, Omaha Beach, is just an hour and a half from the finish line, where you'll also find museums and memorials to that night 🌃. For a lighter part of your trip, visit the Mont-Saint-Michel, an emblematic site of the rivalry between the Bretons and Normans.
To replenish those spent calories and regain your strength, we recommend a traditional meal from start to finish. Why not begin with a shared baked camembert? For the main course, order the famous tripes à la mode de Caen 🍲, and finish with a dessert that everyone will love, the Norman apple tart 🥧. Add a scoop of ice cream, and it's even better! 😋
So, are you ready to take on the challenge and turn this race into a true Norman adventure? 🫡
