Semi-Marathon de Dubrovnik
Get your sneakers on 👟, lace them up, and take off for the Dubrovnik Half Marathon (Runners' Days) 🏃♀️, an event held in April 🌷, at the southern tip of Croatia 🇭🇷. This race will take you through the picturesque streets of the fortified city of Dubrovnik ⚔️, known for its remarkable monuments and breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea 🌊.
Whether you are a seasoned runner or simply looking to challenge yourself 💪, there are multiple courses to suit your needs. For the children and juniors 👧 starting from 5 years old, there is a dedicated race. The "Run The Wall" 2.5 km race is open to runners aged 10 and up. As you might guess, you'll be running along a wall – specifically, the ancient fortifications that surround the old city 🏙️. Additionally, there is a charity run of 5 km, accessible to adaptive athletes ♿️, perfect for those who want to run for a good cause ❤️🩹. But the star of the event is undoubtedly the Half Marathon, a 21.0975 km challenge that will certainly reignite your love for running 🚀. The course features varying elevations with some ups 📈 and downs 📉, especially near the walls and surrounding hills. However, with good training, you'll be able to conquer it! 🫡
After the effort, it's time to relax! Take advantage of your stay in Dubrovnik to explore and enjoy the local specialties 😋. With the Adriatic Sea hugging the city, fresh seafood 🍤 and fish 🐟 are must-tries! Once you're well-fed, it's time to dive into Dubrovnik's history. Thanks to your runner pass 🎫, you can gain free entry to the city's museums, immersing yourself even more into its ambiance and past. UNESCO World Heritage site 🏛️, this "museum-city" was also one of the many filming locations for the popular series "Game of Thrones" 🐉. Regular guided tours 📱 are organized if you want to learn more about the series' behind-the-scenes. If you're in the mood for a road trip, just an hour's drive away, you can visit the stunning island of Lokrum, a true haven of peace and nature 🌳. Why not take a short trip to Ston to see its famous walls and enjoy its delicious oysters 🦪? For a family activity, kayaking along the walls of Dubrovnik is a must-do experience 🚣♂️.
