What are The Running Stones?
The Qualifying Points Game!
Running Stones ✊ are really straightforward: take part in races from the UTMB World Series circuit, finish the race, and voilà, you earn points 🤩.
🔹 What are Running Stones?
Each point, or Running Stone, gives you an extra chance to enter the draw for the dream races in Chamonix: the UTMB®, CCC®, or OCC® ⛰️. The more Running Stones you collect, the better your chances of getting a race bib 🍀.
🔹 How to collect them?
To earn Running Stones, simply complete races that are part of the UTMB World Series circuit 👍. Each race awards you a certain number of points depending on its distance, elevation, and difficulty 📈. For instance, the Trail Verbier Saint-Bernard (42 km and 3000 m of ascent) earns you 2 Running Stones, whereas the Trail du Saint-Jacques by UTMB® (81 km and 3300 m of ascent) gives you 3 😮. Regardless of the distance chosen, you can accumulate these valuable stones.
🔹 What about their validity?
Good news ✅: Your Running Stones are valid for life. But beware, to be able to use them, at least one of your points must have been earned in the past two years 💪. So, if you want to race in Chamonix next year, make sure you've earned at least one point in the past two years 🗓️.
🔹 How to check them?
To find out how many Running Stones you have 📦, create your My UTMB account on the UTMB® website 🌐. In less than 3 minutes ⏳, you can check your UTMB Index and the number of Running Stones you've accumulated 🎉. This way, you'll know if you have enough points to try your luck in the Chamonix race draw 🏃.
Participate in UTMB World Series races, collect Running Stones, and boost your chances to run in Chamonix 🔥. Ready, set, go!
