Welcome to the starting line of The Grand Race of Greater Paris. Before the arrival of the "Grand Paris" 🥖, we offer you a city-to-city race for everyone, an eco-friendly event that will let you discover two sides of the Parisian outskirts, the Southeast and the North. From the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes 🌲, to the iconic Place de la République ⛲️, with a finish at the legendary Stade de France 🏟️, you'll stroll through Parisian streets and its famous squares under the gentle warmth of spring 🌺. This year, the race is back on track and will take place at the end of March, so put on your running shoes and head to Île-de-France! 😁
Established in 2017, the race offers short distances: a 5 km that will start in Saint-Denis! Alternatively, there's a 10 km, starting in a favorite Parisian spot: the iconic Place de la République! For the more daring, a half-marathon connecting Val-de-Marne to Seine-Saint-Denis, passing through Paris, is also on the agenda. To embark on this route, meet beyond the périphérie 🏁. The children 👧 will also join in since there are races just for them. They can also physically challenge themselves on the track of the Stade de France ⚽️. The Grand Paris Race is, above all, a committed event in several ways. With refreshments made only of 100% organic and local products, in an anti-waste approach, the event is committed to ecology! ♻️ As original as it may seem, you will have the chance to taste the famous Paris mushrooms 😋 during the race... Strategic boost or simple indulgence? You won't find plastic bottles either 🥤 and unused refreshments will be completely distributed 🙏. But it goes even further, as we also work on the social front. Indeed, bib donations 🎽 and a collection of sports accessories 🏸 are organized to help the most vulnerable populations 🤝. So, if you have any clothing you no longer use, don't forget to bring them, it will make many people happy 🥰.
Regarding the route, organizers have prepared a blend of the Eastern side of Paris as we love it 🫶. Between green spaces 🪴 and major arteries often clogged with vehicles 🚗, you'll get to experience several essential sites of the capital 🇨🇵. If you're among the brave ones embarking on the half-marathon of 21.097 km, you'll enjoy refreshing passages as you cross the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes 🐎. Note that this park of 995 hectares is the largest green space in Paris 🌳. Enjoy this breath of fresh air that will be very useful before you tread the streets of Paris. Because yes, it will then be a series of monuments and famous places you'll have the chance to discover, just like those who started from Place de la République. The finish 🏁 is breathtaking, within the iconic Stade de France. It's undoubtedly the highlight of the route 🤩. It's your chance to feel like a champion for a few moments 🚀 in front of the many spectators in the stands. This will be the time to fully enjoy your arrival in a warm atmosphere! 👏
After a tour of the Stade de France, explore the cultural and gastronomic heritage of the Seine-Saint-Denis department 😍. We suggest a visit to the Basilica of Saint-Denis with its Gothic architecture ⛪️, a cultural outing at the Air and Space Museum in Le Bourget 🛩, or a trip to the Saint-Ouen Flea Market, the largest antique market in the world. And after all this, to recharge, don't hesitate to visit one of the many famous Parisian brasseries ☕.
Don't hesitate any longer and come to rediscover Paris by running the Grand Race of Greater Paris! 🔥
If you want to prepare and test your endurance for a marathon, the half-marathon of La Grande Course du Grand Paris is the perfect event for you 💪. With a flat course, it’s the ideal opportunity to achieve your personal best on the distance! ⏱️
The race will start at the famous Bois de Vincennes, specifically at the Hippodrome de Paris-Vincennes. With its 995 hectares of greenery, it’s indeed the largest park in the Parisian area 😍. In other words, it's a real breath of fresh air offered by the organizers for the first 4 km. So unleash your potential and take Paris by storm 🐎.
You’ll get to enjoy the Parisian streets starting with Avenue Saint-Mandé. It's a chance to have the first of three 100% organic refreshment stops planned on your route! 😁 Then, climb up the 12th and 11th km to enjoy the second refreshment stop at the 17th km. We know you appreciated the first one, and this one will be just as energizing, giving you the boost you need to keep going and explore the Oberkampf neighborhood, the Église Saint-Ambroise, Boulevard Voltaire, and Rue de la Roquette.
By this point, you will have reached Place de la République and its magnificent Statue of Marianne, to rejoin the route of those who opted out of the half-marathon challenge 😂. The 10th arrondissement opens up to you as you head toward the Rotonde Stalingrad via the Canal Saint-Martin docks, where you might be tempted to take a dip if you’re overheating 🥵. But maybe not, you wouldn’t want to risk a fine 🤪.
Then it’s onto another canal, the Canal de l’Ourcq, which you can admire before heading to the Parc de la Villette and the Canal de Saint-Denis, for your third refreshment stop, concluding your Parisian adventure. You've now set foot in Seine-Saint-Denis! If you’re taking your time, why not enjoy a little shopping spree at the Millénaire mall 🛍.
This will lead you to the final stretch of your race, entering the legendary Stade de France 🏟, where you’ll finish with a lap around the track to the applause of the crowd 👏. There you have it, you’ve completed your 21.097 km.
