The event in a few words

"Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful phrase. Hakuna Matata, ainโ€™t no passing craze! It means no worries for the rest of your days...โ€ ๐Ÿฆ"

With this philosophy, you'll be ready to start the Serengeti Migration Marathon! ๐Ÿƒโ€โžก๏ธ How about ending your summer vacation in style with a quick detour to the Tanzanian plains at the end of August? ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ You won't be running just anywhere: the Serengeti National Park ๐ŸŒณ is not only Tanzania's largest national park but also the most famous in the world! ๐ŸŒ Starting from the town of Mugumu, the Serengeti Migration Marathon invites you to an adventure that rivals the best safaris in Africa: wildebeests, zebras ๐Ÿฆ“, gazelles, rhinos ๐Ÿฆ, lions, and even cheetahs ๐Ÿ†. Get ready to run with the kings of the savannah! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Even if you're not a gazelle that can run miles without getting winded ๐Ÿฅต, don't worry, there are other events during the weekend! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Indeed, it's not just the marathon! โ˜๏ธ This event also features a half-marathon, a 10k, and a 5k! ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ And if Saturday's races aren't enough for you, more events are lined up for Sunday ๐Ÿ˜‰. Plus, they're all for a good cause! ๐Ÿซถ The Serengeti Migration Marathon highlights the importance of wildlife conservation ๐Ÿฆ’ and endangered species. The organizer is also committed to anti-poaching efforts โŒ, which is the main focus of the 12 km and 5.5 km races. These events are quite different from Saturday's ๐Ÿค—. They start in the heart of the park ๐Ÿ“, at Fort Ikoma, allowing you not only to witness the migration โ†”๏ธ but to become part of it by running among groups of wild animals along the Serengeti National Park ๐Ÿคฉ. The Ikona forests, the Ikorongo and Grumeti game reservesโ€”what more could you wish for? ๐Ÿฅฐ

After crossing the finish line ๐Ÿ, why not extend your adventure? ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ To give your legs a rest, you can join a safari in the Serengeti Park or explore other nearby parks: the Kilimanjaro Park, the Tarangire Park, or the Maswa Reserve. The region is full of opportunities! ๐Ÿ˜Œ Keep your eyes peeled as some animals are masters of camouflage, so have your binoculars ready! ๐Ÿค“ If relaxation is what you prefer, the shores of Lake Victoria ๐Ÿž๏ธ offer breathtaking views! You'll be at the crossroads of Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya, a perfect chance to experience new cultures! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Grab your race bib ๐ŸŽฝ and become the hero of the latest Lion King sequel!๐ŸŒŸ

4 reasons to join this race

A Journey into Simba's World ๐Ÿฆ
Your race will take place in none other than Serengeti National Park! This park is the largest in Tanzania, with 14,763 kmยฒ dedicated exclusively to wildlife since 1951. With such a vast area, you're bound to encounter some amazing animals! ๐Ÿฆ’
Running for a Cause ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ
By participating in the Sunday races, you are also supporting the fight against poaching. Like all other parks in Africa, Serengeti unfortunately suffers from poaching... This event helps to fund anti-poaching efforts and offers a unique way to experience the park while raising awareness about the importance of protecting these species! ๐Ÿ˜Œ
A Safari with a Twist ๐Ÿƒโ€โžก๏ธ
Normally, Serengeti National Park is explored by 4x4 to get close to the animals safely and without disturbing them. But here, you'll have the chance to tread the Tanzanian soil with your own feet (or rather, in your running shoes ๐Ÿ˜…) and admire the savannah and its wildlife up close! ๐Ÿคฉ
A Friendly Race for Everyone ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ
Here, it's not about performance and competition. The Serengeti Migration Marathon is more than just a race; it's a genuine experience. With distances for everyone, it promotes the values of preserving this wild territory and, above all, creates unforgettable memories! ๐Ÿ˜‡
