Sanremo Marathon

The event in a few words

Are you ready for the Sanremo Marathon? Then andiamo! ๐ŸคŒ It's in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น, right in Sanremo, in the heart of Liguria, where you'll be racing at full speed ๐ŸŽ. An exceptional setting awaits you along the shores of the Ligurian Sea ๐ŸŒŠ and on the old railway line! ๐Ÿš‚ For its latest edition, 5 race courses will be offered: 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km, a "Family Run" ๐Ÿ‘ช of 2.5 km (open to adults and kids) and a 5 km route accessible to everyone. Expect a big celebration ๐ŸŽ‰ centered around sports ๐Ÿƒ and tourism ๐Ÿงณ.

The Sanremo Marathon route is incredibly scenic as it follows the old railway path and runs along the sea for its entire length ๐Ÿฅฐ. You'll have the chance to enjoy a very fast course since it stretches straight with almost zero elevation (perfect for breaking your personal record โŒš). The only unwanted guest may be the wind ๐ŸŒฌ. But regardless, the marathonโ€™s straight-line course with its "out-and-back" format ๐Ÿ” will let you reach speeds โšก๏ธ that even a sea breeze can't stop!

The course will follow the bike path ๐Ÿšด of the coastal park of the Riviera of Flowers ๐ŸŒธ. This is one of the iconic spots in the region, stretching along the Italian coastline from Ventimiglia to Sanremo. Nicknamed the "Land of Colors" ๐ŸŒˆ, Sanremo, with its blooming gardens ๐Ÿ’ rich in exotic plants ๐ŸŒด and numerous horticultural farms ๐Ÿชด, is at its heart. In 2000, the Riviera of Flowers saw a major project ๐Ÿšง come to life: the railway was elevated ๐Ÿ›ค and the tracks doubled. This freed up an extremely valuable area right next to the sea ๐ŸŒ…. Various institutions took this incredible opportunity to transform the abandoned railway into a coastal natural park ๐ŸŒณ, crisscrossed by a 24 km long bike path... Which has become the marathon course! ๐Ÿ˜

But there's more! You'll discover other features of the Italian coast: the villages of Arma di Taggia, Riva Ligure, Santo Stefano al Mare and Ospedaletti (e gli spaghetti... ๐Ÿ Oh wait, not time to mention that yet ๐Ÿ˜…). Thanks to its multiple events and distances suited for all types of runners, this event is becoming increasingly significant and attracts more and more families and running enthusiasts ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Speaking of spaghetti, make sure to enjoy this little weekend in Dante's language for a culinary treat! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Step off the daily grind: pasta, pizza, tiramisu and more ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Weโ€™re giving you a mouth-watering, non-exhaustive list ๐Ÿคค, since there is no shortage of typical Sanremo dishes! As a coastal city, its cuisine boasts plenty of seafood ๐ŸŸ: squid ๐Ÿฆ‘, octopus ๐Ÿ™, anchovies... We hope you're a seafood lover! You can try a sardenaira, the ancient pizza ๐Ÿ• from Sanremo, paired with a nice glass of Vermentino ๐Ÿท.

The Sanremo Marathon has all the right qualities to offer you an experience comparable to a Michelangelo masterpiece! ๐Ÿ–ผ
