Can you feel the refreshing breeze of the Adriatic Sea? ๐ฌ๏ธ The one that gently strokes your cheeks with the sun rays shining down on Rimini? ๐ Well, if you want to experience it, you know what to do: sign up for the next Rimini Marathon! ๐ But wait, where exactly is Rimini? It's a city located on the Adriatic coast of Italy's Emilia-Romagna region ๐ฎ๐น. As you might guess, it's a lovely place to live, and the marathon is held in April ๐, which means in this Italian province, the saying "don't cast a clout till May be out" doesnโt quite apply! ๐ To enjoy these mild temperatures ๐ก๏ธ, you have the choice between 4 race formats: the most renowned being the marathon, for those unafraid of hitting the notorious wall at mile 18! ๐ฅ Alternatively, you can opt for the half-marathon if you prefer to meet halfway! Still not convinced? Check out the 16km Rimini Tenmiles ๐โโ๏ธ. And for the families in attendance, thereโs the 8 km Family Run, perfect for an unforgettable shared moment! ๐จโ๐จโ๐ง The highlight of this event is its proximity to the seaside ๐. Admit it, doesn't that make you want to go even more? Rimini's beaches are vast and offer a stunning view of the Adriatic Sea! ๐๏ธ Plus, every route will take you through parks in the city or nearby! Let's recap, youโll get to run "by the sea" as our friend Calogero would say ๐ถ, and also in green spaces like Parco XXV Aprile or Gelso Park๐ณ. And of course, the many kilometers through the charming streets of this beautiful Italian city. Have we mentioned everything? Almost forgot about the Rimini Marina that youโll discover during the marathon, and the half-marathon! ๐
Not only are the routes beautiful, but theyโre fast too, which is exactly what you look for in a race! ๐ It might be the perfect time for you to set a new personal record on your preferred distance. Meanwhile, to encourage you to register quickly, rest assured that you wonโt be bored at the Rimini Marathon ๐. Indeed, over the three days the marathon village is open, there will be plenty of activities. Among them are concerts ๐ท for those who love to dance Italian-style! ๐ For those who prefer to relax, there's always the pool ๐โโ๏ธ, perfect for cooling off before giving your all during the race! Of course, nothing stops you from taking a little tour around the cityโquite the opposite! Rimini offers some wonderful sights. Naturally, thereโs the beach, where you can stroll in April, though it might be a tad early for swimming ๐ฌ. If you fancy a walk, the city streets are charming and might surprise you with sights like the Arch of Augustus ๐คฉ, a lovely monument reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe ! Most importantly, while you're in Italy, savor the gastronomy! ๐คค Pasta ๐, pizza ๐, tiramisu, and moreโItalian cuisine is arguably the best in the world! ๐ Just be mindful not to indulge too much before the race ๐.
Well, it's decided then, we'll see you at the start line of the Rimini Marathon! ๐ฝ
You'll start this beautiful marathon by the sea! Indeed, the Club del Sole is located right next to the beach! The starting gun will go off at 9:30 AM, and you'll begin your 9 km run along the seafront ๐. Once you reach the Port of Bellaria Igea Marina Canal, you'll run alongside the canal for about 1 km before heading back towards Rimini. This section isn't a straight line; there will be a few turns here and there, allowing you to discover beautiful spots like the Parco del Gelso at the 13 km mark ๐. Don't worry, the course will straighten out soon! At the 21 km point, you'll be almost back at your starting point, but as you might expect, there's still halfway to go! You'll move a bit further from the sea to cross the Marecchia Canal and arrive at the Piazza Sull'acqua, a park with a large water pond! 4 km later, you'll return to the seafront, running 5 km before making a U-turn. Finally, you'll pass by the pier at the Port of Rimini, cross the Rimini Canal, and head towards the finish line at Piazzale Adamello ๐.
Congratulations, you're a Finisher! ๐คฉ
Like with the marathon, you'll start facing the sea, with the Club del Sole set up right next to the beach! The start will be at 9 am sharp! โฐ For the first 4 km, you'll run along the Adriatic Sea towards Torre Pedrera. Turn around! Taking a more central route, you'll head towards the Marecchia Canal and through the XXV Aprile Park ๐ณ. At the 16 km mark, you'll be back on the waterfront, continuing towards the Port of Rimini โต.
