Le Marathon Vert Rennes School of Business
Vive la Bretagne ! Vive les bretons ! We couldn’t set the mood without a traditional drinking song! 🎶
If you want to discover the beautiful landscapes and charming villages of Brittany, how about a little trip to Rennes? This green city is famed for its medieval houses, exceptional heritage, and unique charm 😍. This year, the Marathon Vert Rennes School of Business (Rennes Marathon) is living up to its reputation and hosting the Brittany Marathon Championships 🏆! But one thing you can always count on: the crazy atmosphere and the crowd there to cheer you on 🎉.
You’ll be running in this little slice of paradise in the month of October, when temperatures are still mild and the landscape is glowing with autumn colors. Le Marathon Vert Rennes features the 42 km solo race, the Ouest-France Relay Marathon for team spirit, and the McDonald's Duo Marathon 🍟 for those who can’t be separated! The marathon course is also open to joëlettes! 🧑🦽 And since everyone should have their place, two other distances are offered: the 10 km Lamotte which you can run at night 🌙, and the Yves Rocher 5 km for girl power (also walkable 🚶♀️). The elevation is close to zero, making it perfect for beginners and a chance for pros to break their personal record! ⌚️
As you count down the kilometers, the organizers of the Rennes Marathon will too! That’s why they've turned it into an eco-friendly challenge with a tree planted for every kilometer run 🌳. It’s not called the Green Marathon of Rennes for nothing! 😉
Green like the lush landscapes of the Île-et-Vilaine countryside, but that’s not all! You’ll also run on the cobbled streets of the Breton capital, filled with a mix of flat and mild uphill terrains. Plus, expect loads of atmosphere and Celtic dances. Between nature (by the Vilaine riverbanks for the marathon, in the Parc du Thabor for the women's race) and the city sights, you’ll enjoy views of the Vilaine river, the Parliament of Brittany, the Opera House and the City Hall of Rennes. And for the finish line, a stunning green carpet (of course, for the Green Marathon 😆), music bands, and cheerleaders await you, alongside delicious food and drinks: sausage galettes, crêpes, Breton beers, and ciders at the finish... An extraordinary rewards will take your breath away! 🎁 Marathoners can also enjoy muscle recovery sessions thanks to the physiotherapy and podiatry students who will pamper you once the race is over! 💆
Craving more greenery and culture? Embark on a journey to the spectacular Forest of Brocéliande, a prestigious garden located just footsteps from Rennes. King Arthur awaits to share his tales 📜. For history buffs and finishers, everything is within walking distance. If you prefer to relax post-race, Rennes is one of the greenest cities in France. So, there’s no shortage of activities. Rennes isn’t just a tourist destination: it’s also a city rich in culinary specialties to tantalize your taste buds. On the menu: the legendary Breton crêpes and the divine Bouchot mussels from the Bay of the Mont-Saint-Michel 🍴.
