The event in a few words

Dreaming of running in the Land of the Rising Sun? ๐ŸŒ… Well, here's the perfect opportunity for you! ๐Ÿซต

The Moriguchi Ecomarathon, located in the stunning city of Moriguchi, in the Osaka Prefecture of Japan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต, is a must-attend event for any runner ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ. This road race takes place in June ๐ŸŒž and offers two timed races โฑ๏ธ, one for 5 km and another for 10 km. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned runner, you'll have the chance to run along the bike path by the Yodo River ๐ŸŽฃ. If you're planning a family day out, there's a 5 km parent-child run ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ, which is non-timed. The races kick off at 11 a.m., and with just 200 participants in total, you wonโ€™t have to worry about overcrowding at the start line ๐Ÿค“.

With numerous other sports events hosted, especially in the prefectures of Saitama, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Kumamoto (but primarily in Tokyo ๐ŸŒธ), the Ecomarathon positions itself as an eco-conscious ๐ŸŒณ and socially responsible organization ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ. This year, participants can choose to donate to the International Refugee Support Association: Second Harvest Japan. As Japan's first food bank, the organization works to ensure that everyone has access to food ๐Ÿฒ.

If you plan to extend your stay and explore the area, Osaka Prefecture offers numerous attractions for all ages! The Kaiyukan Aquarium is one of the largest in the world, featuring a wide array of marine life ๐Ÿฆˆ. The Universal Studios Japan were the first to open outside the United States, similar to those in Orlando, and have been introducing exclusive attractions over the years. You'll find anime heroes ๐Ÿซฐ and popular Japanese characters there. If you have only one day to spend in the prefecture and can't decide what to do, why not take a trip to Kyoto, Japan's former capital and a symbolic site of Japanese traditional culture ๐ŸŽ.

Today, Moriguchi is a historic city dating back to... 1373! ๐Ÿ‘ด Its unique feature? It forms a โ€œUโ€ shape around the city of Kadoma. In the past, vast lotus fields ๐Ÿชท covered the area, but it is now fully urbanized ๐Ÿ™๏ธ.

So, ready to take on the challenge? Warm up, lace up your shoes, and sign up for the Moriguchi Ecomarathon! ๐Ÿš€
