La Spinassienne
The lights are finally dimming, the audience grows quieter, and the runners are ready to take the stage! 🎭 Determined to give their best performance 💪, the troupe of runners still feels a bit anxious about starting the race show! 🎪 This is, after all, the 14th edition of the Spinassienne, and many of them know every elevation line by heart... Well, as you might have gleaned, we’re talking about a running race, not a theater play! And specifically, it's the half marathon of the Spinassienne that we want to tell you about! 🏃♂️
Held in the month of October, the Spinassienne takes place in Épinay-sur-Seine in the Seine-Saint-Denis region. This annual event is organized by the city. You have the choice of three routes: a half marathon (21 km), a 10 km race, and a 3.8 km race. There will also be different races for children! 🧒
The race will start at the Parc Municipal des Sports in Épinay-sur-Seine, a true athlete's paradise with 3 football fields ⚽️, a newly renovated athletics track with Mondo surface 🏃♂️, and 2 tennis courts 🎾… After starting here, you'll run through the city center of Épinay, then along the banks of the Seine for several kilometers. With more than two kilometers of newly redesigned banks stretching between the Parc des Béatus 🌳 and the Boulevard Foch, Épinay-sur-Seine offers an amazing playground for runners and stunning natural landscapes 🤩.
After the race, you can head back to the banks of Épinay to grab a bite 🍿 or simply relax by the water 😴. A village area will be set up post-race to enjoy and eat with your family 👨👩👧👦. Deck chairs, benches, and tables made of natural materials will be available for you to relax after the race! 💆♂️ You can also explore the nature, as the city has recently installed educational panels to help everyone learn more about the local wildlife and plants that inhabit the banks of the Île-de-France 🤓.
So, are you ready to enter the Seine? 😉
