On May 1st, it's not just about the Lily of the Valley or the Labor Day, it’s also the ultimate running celebration 🎉! Ile-de-France welcomes the Grand Paris Sud Half Marathon and 10K. This time of the year starts to usher in warmer weather, and that's simply priceless ☀️. In the Paris region, it’s a must-attend event for all running enthusiasts. The race is popular, open to all (from beginners to advanced runners) and brings together all the community and sporting energies of the area. This race is exceptionally well-organized, down to the last detail, ensuring a great running experience for all participants.👌
Formerly known as the "Marathon de Sénart", Grand Paris Sud now presents a new race format! But not to worry, some of the routes taken during the half-marathon have been part of previous editions, allowing veterans of the Marathon to navigate the course with their eyes closed! Straddling the departments of Essonne and Seine-et-Marne, the organizers offer you the chance to explore the beauty of this rich and magnificent territory.
Head to Carré Sénart to warm up before starting the race alongside some 2500 expected runners 🏃♂️. It can't be emphasized enough: good preparation and stretching before the start are the best ways to avoid injuries and to be fully prepared to break your personal records 💪. As for the race, the 10K runs on the road, between Tigéry and Lieusaint. The half-marathon will take you through several local towns, including Tigery and Saint Pierre-du-Perray in Essonne, and Savigny-le-Temple, Cesson, Vert-Saint-Denis, Moissy-Cramayel in Seine-et-Marne. The race also winds through the village of Pouilly-le-Fort and past the golf course of Sénart 🏌️. But there’s no time for a round of 18 😜! For both the half-marathon and the 10K, head to the Théâtre-Sénart for a star's welcome, amid the roaring cheers and applause of spectators. 👏
The Grand Paris Sud Half Marathon and 10K also stands out for its live music performances that set the pace for runners and create a unique atmosphere 🎼. With over 450 musicians, you’ll need to stay focused and resist the urge to dance! 🕺
Now that you've got the gist, it's time to create your own story! 😉
