Beer Marathon 2025

Hey you, running enthusiast and craft beer lover, it's time to lace up your sneakers and refine your taste buds! 👅 The 2nd edition of the incredible Beer Marathon is coming to Montbrison, located in the Loire region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, this coming May! 🍻 This utterly zany competition will prove that beer and marathons do mix well after all! 🧹 Furthermore, the event isn’t limited to just a 42km marathon as a half-marathon, a 10k run, and a gourmet hike are also part of the festivities. So, grab a tall blonde beer and settle in while we lay down all the details 👇.

Engaging in sports is not only about staying fit 🏋️ but also about indulging 😏. Fans of good food and drink, in other words, the bon vivants, will feel right at home in the malt at the Beer Marathon. The mission here is to break the mold! 💥 Who says you can't have fun while running? 🤔 Enjoy the company of fellow participants who are in the same festive spirit as you and, hopefully, embraced the theme of costuming! Yes, this festive competition 🎉 encourages participants to sport their fanciest outfits. It’s "highly recommended!" Ever seen Shrek run a half-marathon while enjoying a Pelforth? 🧌 A mixture like this, of visual, physical, and taste sensations, is not to be missed! But, be wary of weighing down your stomach, as that would quickly turn the fun into a nightmare 😂. Knowing your limits is key!

Hence, multiple distances are available: a half-marathon, a 10k run, and a gourmet walk of 12.5 km to allow participants of all drinking abilities skill levels to take part 👍. Depending on the distance, there will be more or fewer refreshment stations (13, 8, and 5), stocked with beer (of course) and snacks 😋. We hope this doesn't sway your decision too much! 😅 Regardless of which race you choose, €1 per registration will be donated to the APF France Handicap organization. That's part of the Beer Marathon spirit! Moreover, para-athletes are welcome to join the event... Just remember to adhere to the two-wheel road rules! 😂

But pushing your physical and taste limits is not the only allure of this event. The race takes place in the heart of the Forez region, showcasing its splendors ✨. You’ll encounter charming villages, remarkable spots like the famous Château de la Bâtie d’Urfé. Indeed, Montbrison is a wonderful town where you can explore the region's treasures, stroll through the Montbrison Market, voted the most beautiful market in France, or sample the famous Fourme de Montbrison cheese 🧀.
